Its time for all of us to take a stand and fight for what is right. Our world needs to realize that they are sleeping on their feet and that there are attrocities being played out everywhere, in our own fucking country! We will not sumbit to this dehumaniztion. We have a voice and it must be heard. Dont let the powers that be control your life we are amazing creatures god damn it and our lives have value. Why do we continuely claw on top of each other to "earn" this monopoly money, this green paper that has NO value, there is no gold or anything of "value" backing this currancy up yet we still strive for it. WAKE UP! GET ANGRY! DO SOMETHING WITH ME!

Re: WAKE UP!
Thu, January 22, 2009 - 4:00 AMI'm with you. We need to cultivate inner peace. By teaching lovingkindness and forgiveness we inspire the same in others. We create understanding and awakening. Teach the truth that inner peace is better than predatory gratification. Break down barriers to compassion and we relieve the suffering of the emptiness that is endureed when someone closes their heart to another because of fear or confusion or ignorance.
These are parts of the Culture of Appreciation that we are growing within the Radical Faeries. Come to the Beltaine Gathering to learn more!
Love and affirmation,

Re: WAKE UP!
Wed, August 19, 2009 - 7:41 PMI think what you say is a great start, but rather choose to emphasize that it might be even more beneficial to cultivate these values in humanity as a whole, not just in YET ANOTHER GROUP OF FAGS or other "minority group". This constant onslaught of more and more "elite little specialty groups", in my opinion, does little more than harbor a sense of false security and perpetuate this deep sense of longing to belong and, thus, a unique separation from the Whole, which ultimately equates more or less to the loss of connection with the indwelling Spirit that we see everywhere these days, and therefore division from Goddess and Gaia.
Peace my brother, and thanks for the timely assertions of compassion and graciousness--they are certainly at a very low level among mainstream gays and, I reckon, part of the responsibility of awakening Spirits to foster this new sense of intimacy with the Self for the benefit of all mankind. Peace and Aloha.

Re: WAKE UP!
Wed, April 29, 2009 - 12:47 PMI agree. I may only be twenty years old but all I see all I hear are people moaning and bitching. Complaining about the state of things Whether it be on the conservative side or the liberal freetalk radio. I would like to start seeing more individuals rather fighting for other people to get what they desired acomplished. DO IT YOURSELF!! It is not long till others follow. I have matained a clean(all the yicky shit removed/presertives sugars and recently meats and eggs) I have lost 90lbs and in only 2.5 years later my friends are starting to follow as is my family. I am Tired of seeing this government feed their people diseases and then convince them that there are no alternatives. Spent alot of time bitching about it. Now I feel just in bitching about it because I am doing something about it. Where I would like to see change Is people backing their complaints with actions. Not negative actions. NO. Rather simply changes for themselves. IDK maybe I am just rambling? -

Mon, July 20, 2009 - 3:07 PMStart first by toning down the anger, and doing something compassionate for another human being. That is the first step. Then go out and save the world. -

Re: WAKE UP!
Fri, September 11, 2009 - 10:32 AMWow, what a great thread George and guys,
Your passion really comes through (always neat to experience) along with the energy in this whole thread - a lot of it struck me somewhere inside and thanks for that!
Although I just recently found this tribe a bit ago (name's Tiggen btw, Tigg for short), I've been fortunate to have mentors and teachers along the way that insisted I look at where I stand, what I believe in and how do I apply my energies to any and all of what calls for my attention.
To that end I'd have to agree that somedays with the world doing what the world sometimes does, it can feel like much of the people in it rather seem to be sleepwalking in a thunderstorm as such.
It can be frustrating when I see a something that needs more than I as one person can change, fix or attend to, especially when not so many people are noticing the something that's glaringly in need of attending too. I can't fight the big battles alone and it'd be arrogant to think I can. (Which at times in the past, I'd tried. It was a train wreck at best.).
In lieu of this, since then I've come to learn that for me, example is pretty much a radical act or can be.
I've never been much of a marchin' hollerin' sign-carrying kinda' guy. Not really my gig. But I have made choices to live life cleanly, simply and with awareness of my actions, my choices . . . doing what I can to remain mindful, transparent and authentic in the day to day. I try to apply that to my politics, my activism and hopefully across the board generally.
For me, I also tend to believe that living this way which includes my truth speaks quietly but louder to the everyday people in my world than anything I could shout through a bullhorn or any debate I could get into with any one(s) about how I think the world should or shouldn't be.
(Even worse if I forget that the point isn't to be right, but to be heard.).
And granted, in living my truths and just ' being ', I don't always get it right, which is honorable in itself, I believe.
As one of my favorite and well-held slogans goes -
' Somedays the best thing I can be is someone else's bad example. '
I think the sum of it for me is to know what I'm passionate about, what I believe in, what I want to see in the world and how my choices and actions in this little piece of the universe can do or teach as part in the whole picture. And, just as important, that the world will keep spinning in those moments I don't quite get there.
Hmmmm . . . I think that's probably plenty for now, and I hope I haven't gone on too long. It's a great topic.
Again, yay for your passion - that's always a cool thing the world can always use more of. And thanks for the wake-up call. It'll keep me from dozing in the day to day . . .
Tiggen, a new hippie on the block . . .
' The Universe digs you. HUGE. Like bigtime. Get used to it. '
