  I think NYC is too expensive for the genuine hippie. I think most of them have moved to New England or Pennsylvania.

    Ok, let me re-ask the question then and say "Brooklyn"....a bit cheaper. And besides, man, hippies can live anywhere - very adaptable. It's expensive here, sure, but there are ways to live cheaply and how you wish.

      Where do you go in Brooklyn that you consider a hippie-type place to go?
      
      I know, for example, that there are gay men at food co-ops—I have an ex in Brooklyn who's a member of one. I don't know if he considers himself a hippie, but I expect to find hippies at co-ops. Used book shops? Used anything shops? That's where you'd find me.
      
      Where would you find you? Maybe there are queer hippies that you just don't have your antennae up for?

        Have you checked in with the folks who make Faerie Camp Destiny in VT go? Many of the people who keep and support the land there live in NYC... I know there are Radical Faeries in New York: I've met them.
